The Shooting of Little Obama is Almost
Finish and
Director Damien Dematra is Looking for
Young Buya Syafii Maarif

(01/06/10) Unflagging pursuit of
creativeness, Director and Novelist Damien Dematra is now
looking for young Buya Syafii Maarif to play in his coming
movie: The Kampung Boy, based on the novel The Kampung Boy by
Damien Dematra and published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama. Buya
Syafii Maarif is the Central Leader of Muhammadiyah in 1998-2005
and is considered by many as a nation teacher in Indonesia. The
trailer of this movie is scheduled to be shown in One Century
Muktamar Muhammadiyah in Yogyakarta, 3-8 July 2010. The movie
will be showing throughout Indonesia's cinemas on October 2010.
The filming of this movie has started by taking footages in West
Sumatra and Yogyakarta in April 2010 and up to now, the main
star for the movie playing as Buya Syafii Maarif is still open.
The young men is to play Buya as a child, teenager, and young
adult (average age between 8-23 years old). Besides that, the
movie is still seeking for Syafii's parents, bestfriends, and
family casts from various ages.
Casting for this movie is opened for public and will be held on
5th June 2010 at 9-12 a.m in the auditorium of Muhammadiyah
Central Building on Menteng Raya Street No.62. On the same day,
Little Obama-The Movie that is also directed by Damien Dematra
will finish its shooting days.
