(Jakarta, 17/05/10) Little Obama the Movie starts filming on Friday, 14th of May 2010 in Bandung city and it is
welcomed by heavy rain, but on the following day, the weather is nice and friendly, and
production team manage to finish seven scenes. For filming
purposes, they have to
ask permission to close the surrounding streets of WR Supratman
field in Bandung on certain hours. Besides Bandung, the shooting
will also take place in Cimahi and Jakarta city.
The filming of Little Obama will continue until the 3rd
of June 2010 and is still on schedule for its nationwide cinema
release date, 17th of June 2010, hoping that president
Barack Obama can watch the movie together with his Indonesian
friends.
The pictures of Obama’s Classmates—, who are now colonel,
merchants, businessman, lawyer, civil service, etc., also have
been taken on Sunday (16/05/10).
The goal of this Press Conference is to show support from
one of Obama’s elementary schools, SDN 01 Menteng, as well as his
classmates, for the making of the Little Obama’s movie.
Little Obama’s movie is one of the program of “Celebrating
Obama’s Homecoming” initiated by Damien Dematra together with a
couple of institutions. There are five programs of “Celebrating
Obama’s Homecoming”. First, book launches: the prequel novel
of Obama Anak Menteng, Obama dari Asisi, on
early June 2010 working together with Gramedia Pustaka Utama
publisher. Second, is to hold paintings exhibition about Obama’s
Childhood working together with Indonesia Lupus Foundation to
fund raise people living with Lupus. Third, releases Little
Obama movie in cinemas on the 3rd week of June, working together
with Multivision Plus. Fourth, is to work with Pluralism Care
Movement to present Icon of Pluralism award to President Barack
Obama that will be presented by one of his family member in
Indonesia. Fifth, together with Writing National Movement makes
the national competition for elementary school’s students with
“Inspiration Obama” as the theme.
